This week re-edited photo comes courtesy of kmaggzy as Captain America.
Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to aid the United States government’s efforts in World War II. Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in modern times.
This edit similar to the Casual Gwen Stacy edit where there wasn’t much to edit that I thought I could improve on, but I’m up for the challenge.
I started with the basic changes I always do, by adjusting the exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, HSL, and etc. I am finding that some 2015 photos I have found have been edited to have a dark tone, which I seemed to have changed over the years.
The next step was to move the photo into Photoshop and start removing the background people. It was a task I wanted to give myself. I started with the person on the grey wall, which was simple to do with the patch tool and clone stamp.
The next thing was remove the people and windows on the left side of the image, which was more troublesome to remove using the clone stamp to make it look like it was the same texture as the other. As you can see the finished image isn’t perfect, but something I’ll need to work on in the future.
I also noticed the rotation was straightened up in 2020, which was only slight but enough for not to create a slider to compare the two images.
