As another year has passed for me revolving around the sun, I tend to look back at the last 12 months and showcase some of my favourite photos I’ve taken. I’ll try and give any story or reason why I have highlighted these photos.
I’ve tried and tagged links to their Instagram page in each photo where possible.
Location Shoot with Kittys Cosplay & Sinningwolf Cosplay
I was contacted by Kittys Cosplay to shoot her Mary Jane Spidey cosplay with Sinningwolf Cosplay as Venom. We were all in London for MCM London, so just thought it would be easier to shoot in London as I knew a few places in London to shoot and also we were shooting straight after I finished my day job.
The set of photos was taken at maybe my favourite place to shoot photos, Leake Street underneath Waterloo Station. I felt the vibe of the cosplays really fitted with their cosplays and when I saw these posts at the entrance to the tunnel, I knew I needed to get them posed on them, though there were slight safety issues, with their feet having not any grip, they had to balance so still and I had to take the photos quickly.
Just had to include a blooper photo from Kittys Cosplay as she was scared at one point of falling off the edge. She was fine…before I ran away. *I joke.
MCM London 2022
What can I say about MCM London that hasn’t already been said in previous articles. In 2022 I was only able to attend just the May event as I had a clash of schedules at work. As always when I am at MCM London at the Excel, I always try and push my limits and style of photos whenever I am at this event. This was a challenge as some of these photos were not part of the schedule I book people with, so had to think quickly about where was a good location and how I wanted to take the photo.
Viencon 2022
This event was a victim of the global pandemic and only return to our calendars in August 2022. I was so excited when this event was confirmed it was back as this event has some very unique places to take photos, from taking it at the swimming pool, water fountains, bridge, a wider forest area, an arcade and more.
For the first three photos, I entered a competition at the event and I won with the first picture of Bitten and Smitten Cosplay on the bridge as Raven from Teen Titans.

Location Shoot with Queen Troll Arts Outfits
The next shoot with collaborating with the latex designer Queen Troll Arts who I met at a marketplace. I’m just amazed by the work that Queen Troll Arts based on cosplay designs.
I was able to organise Emberwolf, Bekz.xx and even the designer Queen Troll Official to come along and wear some of the amazing outfits that were provided for the day at Montrose Studios based in Stockport. This venue I’ve been many times as it offers such unique backgrounds to shoot in.
EGX 2022
Not really known for its pull of cosplayers but I wanted to go as I wanted to enjoy an event and just remind myself about how I first started taking photos and just go up to people and ask if I can take their photo. I love doing this from time to time as it’s my time to meet new people who I am excited by their cosplay they are wearing.
MCM Birmingham 2022
This event was to make up for missing out on not going to the October London edition, so went out and took photos of cosplayers with whom I worked before as we would be quick to take photos as we’ve worked previously and they would know how I worked.
I really tried and do more with my camera, and really think about how I wanted to frame my subjects in the photos. Some photos in post editing really want to try edits I used to do but for some reason never really evolved the technique further.
Wales Comic Con 2022
The last event of 2022 and I was only there for one day as I was there to meet the cast of Star Trek Strange New Worlds, and I was so excited to meet the cast as I got a photo with one of them.
I had attended a different event at the Telford Convention Centre but it was my first time at a Wales Comic Con Takeover and I really enjoyed the event despite only attending one day. I met so many cosplayers who I have never seen or met before which was also exciting to me.
Location shoot with Emberwolf and Friends
This was my first shoot of 2023 and I was back at Montrose Studios where I and several photographers were invited by Emberwolf where she invited her friends to share a day in the studio and take photos of their cosplays as well as content for their pages. Also, Emberwolf organise specific group shoots which the photographers joined in the fun.
Location shoot at Sanctum Southampton
As I am writing this article I am still editing photos from this day which I organised at Sanctum Southampton with Charlotte Woolrych who is usually found behind the camera but had asked me if I could take photos for her which I duly obliged. Also, attending this day was Bekz.xx and Candyylocks whom I haven’t shot with in many years. A lot of these photos will be going on my AitchKayCee website and social media so please if you like my work, please do give my other social media page a follow.

MegaLiveCon Birmingham 2022
If you have read the above passage, I have yet to have time to edit the photos from this event. I hope to get these photos edited and sent out to people asap as it was my first event of the year and was so happy to see people even though I was only there for one day (which was a good thing as I just stepped off a plane the day before).

I just wanted to sign off by saying I had a wonderful 12 months behind the camera and can’t wait for what the next 12 months have for me both for my camera and as a person. I hope to be growing me as a photographer and evolve into an even better person.
