Cosplayer of the Week: Aurore Cosplay
Gamer, game developer and all round badass Aurore Cosplay is our latest feature. Aurore is a particularly fantastic cosplayer to follow if you like knowing exactly how someone put something together, her page is a treasure trove of WIP (that’s “work in progress” to you and me) shots and tutorials, alongside incredible shots of the finished results.

Who or what first inspired you to start cosplaying?
I didn’t really know what cosplay was until friends from university introduced me to the concept. I went to my first convention with them and saw it for the first time in 2010. It seemed like so much fun to make costumes and dress up that I decided that the next convention I went to, I would cosplay.

What has been your most complex costume to date?
Probably my Monster Hunter armour. It was the biggest costume I made and it was so complex because the skirt and leg armour was all articulated.
Do you have a dream cosplay you’d like to make one day?
I’d say Sarah Palmer from the Halo series. It would actually take a mix of everything I’ve learned about making armour to make this.

If you could go back in time and give newbie Aurore any advice, what would it be?
Be selective about crafting materials for armour. You get the best results if you use a mix throughout a costume rather than just dedicating to one.
