Just thought I drop by and give an update to the task I gave myself at the start of the year.
Just to recap, last year I set myself some tasks/challenges regarding my photography and this year I set myself a new set of tasks to improve my photography. Click on the link to see what I set myself and why I am doing it.
Looking up other Photographer
I started looking at other photographers but really not taken any notes of any styles of techniques I like to use. So really need to start looking at other photographers and take note of their style.
Capturing Facial Expression
Again I started doing this at the start of the year but fell back into old habits of not giving facial directions into how I want the facial expression should be.
I’m not sure how to go about telling someone how to make the facial expression I want. I don’t know if I should demonstrate it with the person or maybe some people are uncomfortable in making facial expression for what I need. I think a bit more research into this.
Shooting in Manual
This so far has been my biggest success and biggest challenge. I have got to grips with the understanding the trifecta of ISO, shutter speed and f stop. But knowing the trifecta just takes me a small time to get the settings correct, which slightly slows down the photo taking process.
I am enjoying taking photos in manual mode. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I thought during Comic Con, I would revert back to my old mode and fall back into old ways, but thus far, I haven’t which has surprised me.
“One more thing”
I’ve started a new photography website, for projects and occasion where I am not shooting cosplay but still want a platform to showcase my work. I hope to be updating that website weekly with some exciting projects in the pipeline.
