Monday Discussion : Would you be wearing a face covering with your cosplay and why?

Would want to hear your views on “Would you be wearing a face covering with your cosplay and why?”.

With the vaccine getting many peoples arm which is helping protect from developing symptoms of covid-19. But potentially many people not vaccinated or still living with vulnerable people who unable to take the vaccine, would you still be wearing a mask at a comic con event?

Will you be walking around in cosplay with a mask on and then possibly taking it off when taking photos?

14/08/2023Monday DiscussionWe want to hear your views on “What’s your view of “gatekeeping” within the cosplay community?” The concept of “gatekeeping” refers to the act of controlling access to a certain community or identity by imposing strict rules, standards, or criteria. While gatekeeping can have both positive and negative effects depending on the context, it is generally considered problematic when it becomes exclusionary, restrictive, or harmful. Similarly, in certain cultural or subcultural groups, gatekeeping may be used to protect the identity and values of the community from appropriation or exploitation by outsiders. In these cases, gatekeeping can be seen as a way to preserve cultural heritage and prevent harmful misrepresentations. However, the downside of gatekeeping arises when it is used to exclude and marginalize certain individuals or groups based on arbitrary criteria, such as race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, or differing opinions. This can lead to elitism, discrimination, and a lack of diversity and inclusion within the community. Drop your comment, in the Comment Section below or on our Facebook page to share your view.
