This week’s Re-Edit is cosplayed by stitchkittenuk, cosplaying as Tygra from the Thundercats.
Tygra is a Thunderian, architect, scientist, and noble member of the ThunderCats. He can become invisible, however, this doesn’t prevent him from being seen by strong enough detectors. Along with the ability to turn invisible, he is armed with a large bolo whip. He is also the ThunderCats’ Council leader, even though Lion-O is in command.
2020 EDIT PROCESS
I started with the basic changes I always do, by adjusting the exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, HSL, and etc. Throughout this project of re-editing my older photos, I do not refer to the original edited photo so I can see if I would make the same steps or make alternative decisions.
Moving the photo into Photoshop, I wanted to paint in more of the body paint in the upper chest area. I did this by taking a sample of the area and brushing in the areas which needed filling.
The photo didn’t look sharp so I used a technique to increase the sharpness of the photo such as using a “High Pass” filter to increase the sharpness.
The iris of the eye I wanted to look more defined and show the cat like shape of the iris. I brushed in the colour of the iris more to give that cay like eyes look. And also, using the dodge tool to brighten up the eyes so they can be seen.
After that used the patch tool to take out any unwanted artefacts from the photo such as a piece of trash on the floor in the right corner of the frame.
My last step was to applied the skin smoothering and contouring techniques I do in Photoshop.
COMPARING THE TWO PHOTOS
Comparing the two photos, there isn’t much of a huge noticeable difference that can be seen.
But looking between the two photos, I wish I concentrated on improving the sharpness of the photos as to me it still doesn’t look clear.
Also, I would focus more on getting the body paint making look more even looking as it kinda looks like one shade with no depth to the painted area I brushed in.
Don’t forget to use the slider above to compare the two photos but also you view them individually below.
