This week’s Re-Edit is cosplayed by Sammys Cosplay, cosplaying as Harley Quinn from the Batman: The Animated Series, Mad Love.
Commissioner Gordon goes in for a dental appointment, only to find the Joker in the place of his dentist. Harley Quinn ties him to the chair, and just as Joker is about to kill the Commissioner, Batman crashes in. He tosses a pair of chattering teeth to the floor with disdain, and tells the Joker that the clue was poorly done.
2020 EDIT PROCESS
I started with the basic changes I always do, by adjusting the exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, HSL, and etc. Throughout this project of re-editing my older photos, I do not refer to the original edited the photo so I can see if I would make the same steps or make alternative decisions.
I remember how I edited the wall behind the cosplayer and decided to do something different which was using the HSL tools to play with the colour and making sure it was a more natural colour.
Moving the photo into Photoshop, there are some marks on the ground and wall which I used a combination of the Patch Tool and Healing Brush to remove those marks.
Next step that I wanted to give the latex outift to look more figure hugging and have less bumps on the side, so using the liquifying mode to push in the bumps in the hip area. It’s a small details but something I like doing.
Something I added which I now looking at reference photo, isn’t there is adding a name to her name badge. When adding the name, I just added the text but then manipulated the look of the text to look like its wrap and placed as it was part of the latex oufit.
I decided against making the latex outfit shiny as I felt the matt look latex just look great still. But what I have done is make the cosplayer’s eye blue to match the characters who’s eye are blue.
COMPARING THE TWO PHOTOS
Looking at the two photos, there are aspects I like, such as making the cospayers eyes blue, getting rid of the marks in the photo, adjusting the outfit, but the background feels a bit muted. I wish I made an effect making the bakground a bit more stand out but not as striking as the 2017 edit.
Pleaase do check out the two photos above to compare but also the slider below to better see the difference.
