Sometime in September, myself, Jinxy Dragon and Ember Wolf, embarked on shooting Night Fury and Light Fury on a windy and cold day. *Smart thinking Eddie.
For those who don’t know, these cosplay are the human form version of the dragons from “How To Train Your Dragon“. We shot in two locations of Colwyn Bay in North Wales and Delamere Forest in Cheshire. These locations were very contrasting but gave stunning areas to shoot in. One of the things I wanted to try and shoot were smoke bombs. They were fun but interesting to shoot, something I like to try again and get a better dynamic shot of the smoke with the cosplayer.
This project came about as when I saw Ember Wolf as Light Fury and we decided that we should take this on a location shoot. During the planning stage, Ember was able to involve Jinxy Dragon (well, it’s in her title) to be her NightFury. I am always looking for projects to really get my creative mind going. To try and convoy animal like poses but in human form is a challenge but also, I try and walk into a new project with new ideas or plan.

The time has come and you can book your slot with me. Please read the instructions carefully.
Please pick which day, and time slot and detail me the cosplay you’d like me to shoot.
Please only book with me if you know what cosplay you want to shoot with me. If you do not declare your cosplay, I will cancel the appointment
Pick a time that you can reasonably get to me. If on the day you are running late, I won’t be able to reschedule and you will forfeit your time slot as I do not want a knock-on effect of running late for my other appointments.
If you pick more than one slot, I can choose which cosplay I like to shoot. This isn’t a reflection on your cosplay but I want to give everyone a chance to shoot with me at least once over the weekend.
Last thing, I won’t be accepting any group shoots as they affect my anxiety and can cause stress on me.
Please note: I am not accepting any group shoots. I’ll consider a duo shoot.
Should there be slots available after the first round, I’ll allow people to book me up for a second slot.
If you miss out on a slot, do not worry, I’ll be at the event all three days so if you spot me, do come and stop me and we can get a quick photo together.

Cosplayer: kuruvata / Photo drewcoremas
Toad is a timeless character. Both young and old love them, Toad was such a scene stealer in the almost recent Super Mario Bros Movie, and is one of the best characters to play/interact with in the game.
The costume is mostly made out of foam padding and felt fabric. Two materials I had never worked with before. The most challenging part is trying to glue everything down, make it stick, and keep its shape!
Almost everyone recognized Toad at New York Comic Con. I could barely get a few feet forward before getting asked for pictures. It was quite challenging and the inside does get hot despite the two fans I had inside.
My cosplay origin story started back in 2015 when a close friend invited me to my very first New York Comic Con. I had built a Bane costume out of cardboard and tubing. After seeing all the intricate cosplayers in attendance, I was inspired to also build my own.
