I discovered Chemical Reaction Cosplay at a London convention as I saw her Sansa Stark with a Game of Thrones group. It’s quite clear why I was instantly blown away, as you can see below! Chemical Reaction is a self professed lover of strong female characters and that certainly shows through her collection of cosplays.

Who or what first inspired you to start cosplay?
I got impatient waiting for Halloween to come around each year! I had no idea Comic Con existed until about 3 years ago and finally found a place where I could showcase costumes I was working on all year round, rather than wait for Halloween!
You’ve done quite a lot of cosplays since then, but what would you say has been your most complicated one so far?
Nebula, definitely. There are so many different components that make the costume up that all took time to build!
Do you have a dream cosplay that you’d like to work towards? Can you use anything you’ve learned from Nebula to help you?
I’ve been putting off remaking Glinda from the musical Wicked for years, so I think that’s on my list. I did a lot of sewing for Nebula so I feel a lot more confident tackling Glinda again.
What would you say is your favourite part of the costume making process?
I think for me it’s the moment you put everything on and see yourself for the first time. You get to see all your hard work paid off.
If you could go back in time and give newbie Chemical Reaction one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don’t pay any attention to the people who tell you you’re “doing it wrong” and do it the way you want to.
