I don’t know what I was expecting from Wales Comic Con, but it’s a great event. I know that’s something I should say at the end, but I just wanted to say why I loved it. First off, I was able to bring my good friend Titans of Cosplay along the ride (good friend maybe stretching it, considering the way I tease him). We both had never been to the event so had no expectation to what we would see. The event is held at the Wrexham University and parking is okay as it has its own car park and nearby street parking. My mean reason for going to the event was to meet up with my friends from the States Ani-Mia and Uncanny Megan, who are just fantastic people to hang out with and speak too.
For the level of cosplay I saw, it’s a level which was pleasing to me. I saw a very good mix of cosplay from The Walking Dead, Squirrel Girl, a Mary Poppins family. There was a number of Overwatch cosplay there as WCC has a number of the VA there over the weekend. Talking about guests at WCC, I was stunned to see who WCC was able to attract for an event that was in it’s tenth year at a University complex.
This event has everything a modern comic con should have, gaming zone, media guests, genki gear, nice areas to get some great photos, even the weather over the two days was great, sunshine for most of time. If you want to see more of the event, I have this vlog of my time there.
Also, photos of the cosplay I saw at the event can be found in the links below.
